Chocolate Crunch Cereal

A real-food, good-for-ya, and extremely tasty breakfast cereal….. FOR THE CEREAL BASE: 3 cups buckwheat groats 3 TBSPs coconut oil, melted 1/4 cup maple syrup (or raw honey or stevia) 1/2 tsp vanilla 2 TBSPs cacao (or cocoa) powder 1/4 tsp pure salt 1/4 tsp cinnamon Rinse buckwheat in fine mesh strainer and transfer to a large bowl. Add approximately 9 cups of water, and let sit at room temp, covered, anywhere from 1 to 6 hours. Rinse and drain well (in same fine mesh strainer) and set aside. Buckwheat Porridge

1/3 cup buckwheat groats 1 banana 1/2 tsp cinnamon (more or less) chopped walnuts (optional) chopped apples unsweetened coconut shreds milk of choice (I like coconut milk for this) Soak buckwheat in water at room temp overnight. In the morning, drain and rinse the buckwheat. Add the buckwheat to a food processor with the banana and cinnamon. Pulse until desired consistency. Yet another version of oatmeal we like for variation, moreso in the warmer months…. 1/2 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup milk of choice 1/2 TBSP chia seeds (optional) 1/8 tsp cinnamon 1/2 TBSP ground flax seeds berries extra milk for serving Before bed, mix together oats, milk, chia seeds, and cinnamon. 1 & 1/2 cups whole oat groats or steel cut oats, soaked 1/2 apple, peeled & chopped 2 TBSP pure maple syrup (or liquid stevia to taste) 2 TBSP water 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract 1/4 tsp pure salt 1/2 cup milk of choice extra chopped apple (optional) raisins (optional) Soak oats in water overnight (8 – 12 hours).
